Jennifer Forbes Truro & Falmouth Parliamentary Candidate
POLICY
A new deal for workers, an end to zero hours contracts and insecure work, and a living wage for all. Help for the self-employed, with sick pay and paternity pay available.
The world of work has changed so much. Secure contracts and decent wages are no longer the norm and insecurity at work is a big issue in Cornwall, where self-employment is 50% above the national average. As a trade union rep I stood up for CWU members when their terms and conditions were under attack – I believe everyone should have access to work that provides security, dignity and respect. I will fight to end bogus self-employment, ban zero hours contracts, restore collective bargaining and secure a real living wage.
